Title
No More Apartheid
Description
In addition to contributing to the 1985 dance track and protest song "Sun City," Peter Gabriel wrote a new song for the Artists United Against Apartheid's album Sun City. The protest group was founded by American musician Steven Van Zandt with the aid of Danny Schechter and Arthur Baker. The song was also featured on his 1987 album which included two songs about South Africa, with one of the songs named "Biko" in honor of activist Steve Biko. Joining him on the song was Indian jazz violinist Lakshminarayana Shankar, who helped in providing the hypnotic music which is only accompanied by mostly Gabriel's scat singing. The most audible lyrics are "No more apartheid/we don’t like it.”
