Every Woman Every Child

UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon has been a champion for the health and well-being of millions of people around the world. To that end, in 2010 he introduced Every Woman Every Child, a program whose sole purpose is to spur action at the highest levels and provide strategies for ending preventable deaths of women, children, and adolescents. Its three objectives are as follows: Survive (end preventable deaths), Thrive (ensure health and well-being), and Transform (expand enabling environments). Working through its partners, the initiative has already saved the lives of millions of women and children. Over forty countries and over 120 multi-stakeholder partners have already made commitments to this global strategy, totaling over $25 billion.
